Rudge Bros and James and Broken Dock

Highly commended for:

The design of Broken Dock Kitchen & Bar using:

Altro Ensemble, Altro Whiterock wall designs

Natasha Pierce of Broken Dock and Jim Heal of Rudge Bros and James worked together on a new restaurant and bar, using its shipping docks theme to create a striking yet inviting venue.

The team focussed on a post-industrial look, using copper, browns and greys from floor to ceiling. The tables and Altro Ensemble flooring feature a ‘burnt’, aged wood look, mixed in with lighter wood shades on both the floor and chairs, making every aspect of the design complement another. Altro Whiterock wall designs in Antique Copper help extend the look throughout the venue, while a blueprint-style line drawing on the back wall emphasises the dock theme and industrial look. There is a perfect balance between Broken Dock’s theme, and a space that you would want to relax in – the brown tones are rich and warm, and low-hanging, orange glow lights provide a cosy, comfortable feel.
