Bespoke options

Altro work in partnership with hospitals, architects and mental health facilities to design rooms that meet the specific needs of mental health service users and meet the National Association of Psychiatric Intensive Care Units and Design in Mental Health – “Design Guidance for Psychiatric Intensive Units”

We understand each service user has unique needs and behaviours and we have solutions to create a safe environment for even the most challenging behaviours.

We continually conduct research to identify best practices and create full room solutions that reduce stress and contributes to a safe environment between staff and service users.  Find out more about designing for challenging environments. Our research with industry experts has demonstrated creating an open, bright and light environment where all rooms have a clearly identifiable purpose is key.  Rooms that are low stimulus, and have acoustic properties to reduce noise and resulting stress are ideal for any healthcare environment, and can help improve service user outcomes.

Resins

Resins afford a great degree of flexibility. Altro resins on floors can be customised to suit the environment with colours, effects and different slip resistance characteristics to meet individual requirements for seamless, safe and hygienic surfaces. Different finishes may also be achieved on the walls to create a seamless system from floor to ceiling.

Standard coving can also be adapted to reduced radius coving as another method of reducing visual confusion in more general areas.

If you do not find the exact floor or wall that you require, please call us to discuss your options for a bespoke solution.
