Altro Whiterock Imagination Wall helps keeps creative minds busy in school

22 December 2020

Have you ever needed a creative outlet for bored children in a nursery or classroom environment? If so, you will understand how hard it can be to keep an inquisitive mind and creative hands quiet for long periods of time. With education and clinical environments needing to keep hygiene a priority it can be difficult to find a practical solution to this problem and with technology being readily available it can also be difficult to move children away from screens and engage them in a more modest activity.

The new Altro Whiterock Imagination Wall has been designed to give children the chance to colour to their hearts’ content helping them to pass the time and keep them busy in nurseries, classrooms, GP surgeries and waiting rooms and activity centres.

Fiona Barnard, Operations Assistant, at Eden flooring and Interiors said: “The Altro Whiterock Imagination Wall was recently installed at a local primary school and has been a big hit, with pupils and staff alike! The class teacher said: ‘The boards are really good, wipe off easily and stay clean. The children love them, and they encourage lots of conversations, and as they’re on the wall it is great to build early muscle development.”

Not only will the Altro Whiterock Imagination Wall help to keep children busy, it can enhance their development too. The benefits of colouring in for children are that it helps to:

  • develop fine motor skills
  • encourages patience and relaxation
  • helps with concentration
  • furthers handwriting skills
  • encourage colour recognition
  • boosts their confidence
  • helps relieve stress
  • promotes creativity
