Altro donation to RVS makes lunch club possible

Altro Wood Safety Comfort, Altro Whiterock Digiclad

The Royal Voluntary Service (RVS) in Hertfordshire help older people maintain their independence and stay involved in the local community. At the Hertford branch, the RVS wanted to provide a lunch club to bring older people together to enjoy a hot nutritious meal and socialise with friends at the same time.

The room to be used for the club had a cracked floor and unpainted walls, making it not fit for purpose. Altro donated floors and walls to transform the room to create a warm and welcoming environment. Altro Wood Safety Comfort was used for the floor to provide a good aesthetic and easy to clean floor. At 2.85mm thick, it is the ideal choice for areas that need to look good while helping to give comfort underfoot. It also offers 14dB sound reduction, which is great for noisy environments.

Altro Whiterock White was used on the walls. Altro Whiterock White provides a smooth, easy to clean surface that is impact resistant and reduces maintenance costs. The RVS logo was printed on Altro Whiterock Digiclad for a feature wall in the lunch room.

Altro Whiterock Digiclad is created by reproducing a photographic image or vector art onto Altro Whiterock walling, with consistent, photographic quality. Hard-coat technology provides scratch-resistant properties for added surface protection, making Altro Whiterock Digiclad ideal for areas where durability is important.

Maria Guilder, Essex & Hertford Manager at Royal Voluntary Service said: “Altro was very professional, the floors and walls have a lovely finish and are easy to clean. We are able to run a light lunch club in this room which we would not have been able to do without Altro’s donation.”
