Protect the public with Altro safety flooring
CIRIA, the industry's leading research and information organisation has released new recommendations on reducing slips and trips.
The "Safer surfaces to walk on" guidelines stress that any surface contamination will compromise the safety of smooth flooring. Therefore, subject to risk assessment, safety flooring should be used wherever surface water or other spillages can be present. The guidelines will be enforced by the HSE.
New areas to consider safety flooring therefore include reception areas, areas close to entrance matting, areas where there is a risk of any liquid being accidentally dropped, or where cleaning takes place without immediate drying.
