The Flooring Guild Apprenticeship Programme
Following a highly successful pilot scheme in the South West, The Flooring Guild has launched its accredited Apprenticeship programme nationwide which is open to retailers, contractors and self-employed fitters.
The programme, supported by Construction Skills, City & Guilds and the Construction Awards Alliance, has been introduced to underpin and deliver the skills and standards of the next generation of carpet fitters and floor layers.
The qualification is recognised by the Government and therefore full funding for the programme is available to all prospective and existing staff between the ages of 16 – 18 (substantial funding is available for those aged 19 – 24).
The Apprenticeship programme takes the form of a twelve-month programme, blending trade specific training by leading manufacturers with the delivery of knowledge by highly experienced floor layers. The whole process is overseen and verified through on-site visits by a nationwide network of fully qualified assessors.
Employers can choose to put an existing employee on the scheme or help is available to find the right person by introducing employers to enthusiastic and committed young people who want the opportunity to work for employers who show a desire to take on an Apprentice.
Between us we will ensure that the industry continues to go from strength to strength by recognising the value of employing Apprentices.
