Winner of the 2010 New Product of the Year Award when newly-launched, Altro XpressLay returns to take the 2011 Product of the Year title, following an enthusiast welcome across the flooring industry.

Altro XpressLay is the first safety floor which can be installed using tape rather than traditional contact adhesive, making it extremely quick, easy and clean to fit.

It can be laid over existing problem surfaces such as vinyl tiles or flaky painted floors, helping to save the time, cost and disruption associated with removal and disposal of existing subfloors.

With a slip resistance value of greater than 36, it offers the uncompromising protection against slips and trips for which Altro is renowned. It is available in eight colours taken from the popular Altro Walkway 20 range – Bone, Cloud, Dophin, Skyline, Fog, Black, Blue and Cherry – allowing it to match any design scheme.

The product formulation and profiled underside makes Altro XpressLay suitable for use on fresh concrete subfloors up to 97% relative humidity. This means there is no need to wait for a new concrete subfloor to reach 75% RH, or to apply a surface damp-proof membrane.

With up to 10% recycled material and a BREEAM generic A+ environmental rating, specifying the product can also help clients to meet their sustainability targets. It is 100% recyclable and, because there is no adhesive, post consumer waste could easily be recycled at Altro’s in-house flooring recycling facility with none of the usual problems relating to subfloor, screed and other contamination.
