Altro Suprema II Launches In 40 Colours With Lifetime PUR Technology

Altro has announced the launch of the Altro Suprema II range - a major development in design-led, lower maintenance safety flooring, with impressive environmental credentials. Available in a palette of 40 colours, Altro Suprema II offers extensive design opportunities and is a perfect solution for areas where safety flooring has never been utilised before. Most importantly, it is the first safety flooring range to incorporate ground-breaking Altro Easyclean Maxis PUR technology, which can reduce cleaning and maintenance costs throughout the product’s life by up to 60%.
In independent laboratory tests, Altro Easyclean Maxis PUR technology demonstrated industry-leading ease of cleaning, excellent resistance to staining and chemicals, ground-breaking long-term dirt pick-up performance and colour retention. Pristine appearance can be retained with a less stringent cleaning regime, less water, and fewer chemicals, resulting in significant reductions in lifecycle costs. The advanced PUR technology is incorporated throughout the wear layer, meaning that these benefits are retained throughout the product’s lifecycle – offering levels of performance surpassing other available PURs. Altro’s no-quibble Lifetime Pledge backs Altro Suprema II, not just for the warrantied life of the product, but for the product’s expected lifetime.
For specifiers, Altro Suprema II is the perfect combination of practicality and creativity. Compliant with DIN 511430 – R10, and achieving over 36 in TRRL pendulum tests, it offers outstanding slip resistance. But the palette of 40 colour options – one of the largest choices of any single safety flooring range – means that aesthetics do not have to be compromised to offer higher levels of slip resistance.
Altro Suprema II is the company’s most extensive design-led safety flooring range to date. Developed in consultation with architects, end users and colour consultants, the 40 options, including chipped designs, have been chosen to anticipate future colour and interior design directions, as well as interpreting current trends. The moods that can be created range from subtle and understated, to bold and inventive. And with the peace of mind of Altro Easyclean Maxis PUR technology, specifiers can now select Altro Suprema II for areas that, historically, would not have used safety flooring. Altro Suprema II provides a fully integrated wall and floor system, in conjunction with Altro Whiterock wall cladding, for use in the widest range of environments where optimum safety and hygiene are critical. Both product ranges include integral Altrosan bacteriostat, which does not support the growth of MRSA and similar organisms. The compatibility of the materials, and the ease with which they can be coved and welded, makes them ideal (individually or collectively) for installations such as hospitals, operating theatres, laboratories and education sites.
Sustainability
Altro Suprema II achieves the highest possible BRE Global generic environment ratings of A+/A in the major building applications of Health, Education, Retail and Commercial (full details at thegreenguide.org). New Altro Suprema II also establishes new levels of sustainability for this industry sector, as the first safety flooring product range to incorporate bioplasticisers, supplied from a renewable resource.
As with all Altro safety flooring, the Altro Suprema II range is 100% recyclable and contains post-consumer waste as an integral raw material. Some Altro safety flooring products have up to 20% and some resin products up to 30% recycled content.
Altro is one of two founder members of Recofloor – the vinyl flooring industry’s take back scheme for post-use vinyl – which launched in September 2009. As the first manufacturer capable of recycling safety flooring in-house, Altro collects and recycles all the safety flooring on behalf of Recofloor, irrespective of manufacturer.
