Altro Climb The Sunday Times Top 100 Listing For The Fifth Year

<p>For the fifth year in a row, Letchworth-based Altro has once again won a place in the prestigious Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For 2010 listing in recognition of its cultural environment<br />

Flooring and walling specialist Altro and its sister company Autoglym, the automotive care product manufacturer is celebrating the company’s move up the rankings to 69th place. Staff were joined in their celebrations by the group’s international workforce based at subsidiaries around the world, including Sweden, America and Australia.<br />

Now in its 10th year, the Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For awards are the recognised benchmark for research into employee satisfaction in the UK. As part of the evaluation process, Altro staff were asked questions about training and development, the communication and understanding of business goals and performance, working conditions and the company’s contribution to the local community. The results demonstrate that people really are at the heart of Altro’s success with 80% of employees saying they are proud to be part of the company, 75% that their ideas are valued and 77% feel they can make a difference in the organisation.<br />

Richard Kahn, chief executive of Altro, said: “2010 is a momentous year for us as it marks Altro’s 90th anniversary. It makes this year’s award seem even more fitting as it is testament to our culture, brand values and the way that we have all worked to shape the company. <br />

“At Altro we take responsibility to our employees very seriously and we are delighted that this has once again been recognised with our ranking in 69th place in this year’s survey, our highest position to date. To be named in the Top 100 is, in itself outstanding, but to be included for the past five years is a tremendous achievement of which we are all particularly proud.”</p>
