Wintons Flooring

Wintons Flooring, Manchester have been awarded an Installation Recognition Award for recommending and installing Altro XpressLay at a number of projects, most notably at a Tesco’s warehouse in the north-west and at a nursery.

In the last few months, Wintons Flooring have laid 690m² of Altro XpressLay. On a recent warehouse installation for Tesco’s Express in St Helens, Wintons found the floor had failed: there was no DPM and no time to undertake traditional remedies because down-time had to be kept to a minimum.

The solution was 138m² of Altro XpressLay, which was installed directly over a power-floated concrete sub floor in a warehouse unit to the relief and satisfaction of the customer.

A further sub-floor issue had to be overcome in a corridor at Cleworth Road Nursery School. The high water table and extreme damp had blown the existing flooring on two occasions even after a liquid DPM had been applied, the solution was to lay Altro XpressLay over a latex screed.
