One of your most common requests has been for a fully compliant safety floor which is faster, easier and more economical to fit. After years of research and thorough testing, we are proud to have introduced the world’s first adhesive-free safety flooring - Altro XpressLay, a product that will revolutionise the safety flooring market.
The sustainable solution
There’s no need for adhesive or a surface damp-proof membrane, when installing Altro XpressLay. This means there’s no contamination and the whole flooring can be recycled after use. Altro XpressLay contains up to 10% recycled content and Altro was the first flooring manufacturer in the world to have a safety flooring recycling machine. Altro XpressLay benefits from a BRE Generic A+ Environmental Rating in the majority of applications make it the sustainable option.
The solution for damp and awkward surfaces
Altro XpressLay incorporates a unique underside emboss that forms tiny air channels allowing any moisture left in the sub-floor to escape.
It can be laid onto new concrete subfloors 7 to 14 days old (up to 97% humidity, no waiting until 75%), in areas that are prone to damp and even on problem surfaces like existing tiles and flaky paint.
The solution for listed buildings and temporary installations
As Altro XpressLay is adhered with tape rather than adhesive, it is perfect for temporary locations, such as exhibitions and portacabins, as it can be easily ripped up post-installation.
It is also frequently specified in listed and historical buildings, as it can be laid over existing flooring with minimal damage when removed.
The solution for time and cost savings
Altro XpressLay is fitted with Altro LooseLay double sided tape, supplied free of charge, avoiding the need for adhesive, thereby saving time and money. As there is no waiting for adhesive to cure, the welding can be done immediately and the floor can be walked on straight away.
Underfloor heating can be kept on during fitting, so the customer does not have to endure lengthy and expensive shutdowns.
It can be laid straight or self-coved.
