The hospital used different Altro products for each surface within the unit, demonstrating the wide range of flooring, wall cladding and doors available from the UK's leading interior surfaces specialist. All products are known for their hygienic qualities, as they do not harbour harmful bacteria that could lead to severe illness and hinder the recovery of patients in hospitals.
The unit was decked out in Altro Suprema safety flooring, which incorporates Altro's Maxis Easyclean technology, making it easy to clean. Suprema also offers good slip and impact resistance, providing a safe and durable surface, perfect for a hospital environment. It is a modern and attractive floor, and doesn't feature the sparkle commonly associated with traditional safety flooring.
Hygienic Finishing Systems were the contractor who installed Altro Whiterock Pastels welded wall cladding in an attractive Citron colour. This hygienic PVC product is ideal for clinical environments, because when compared to traditional ceramic tiles or other cladding systems, the seamless finish of Whiterock Pastels mean limited areas for bacteria and moisture to build up. Whiterock Pastels offers an attractive single colour finish from a choice of 11 different tones.
"We are finding that more and more hospitals are turning to Altro as their solution of choice. It performs to rigorous hygienic standards, which is an essential consideration for estates managers in this sector, who require a product that assists in preventing the spread of infection. Altro Whiterock Pastels is also highly durable, which helps to deliver significant cost savings when examined over the product lifespan." Richard Bullivant from Hygienic Finishing Systems.

"We have been specifying Altro products at Warrington General Hospital for a number of years now. Refurbishment is an ongoing process, and our plan is to continue using Altro products as they offer us a consistent solution which we know meets the needs of the hospital."
