Altro Suprema has been installed in wards and general circulation corridors, providing an attractive, hard wearing surface for patients, staff and visitors. Within hospital wet rooms, Altro Marine and Altro Maxis safety flooring and Altro Whiterock wall cladding were viewed as the perfect easy to clean combination. Altro Marine offers unrivalled slip resistance for barefoot and wet areas. Altro Whiterock is a hygienic uPVC wall cladding with a smooth surface offering few joints where moisture and dirt can build up.

Altro Timbersafe has been installed in patient and visitor waiting areas, helping to provide a non-institutional look. Altro Timbersafe is the original wood-effect safety flooring, combining the warm feel of wood with Altro's renowned hygienic properties and slip and trip protection.

NHS Guidance, HTM61 on Flooring, recommends using flooring with a minimum slip resistance value (SRV) of 36, as outlined in detail in the CIRIA publication "Safer surfaces to walk on – reducing the risk of slipping" (CIRIA, 2006). All the Altro safety flooring products used at Crosshouse Hospital have a SRV well in excess of 36, making them 'low risk' in terms of slip potential according to the Health & Safety Executive.

"We have worked with Crosshouse Hospital now for several years, and Altro has become their first choice safety flooring product. Altro's range of specialist floorings are incredibly easy to work with and are ideal for hospitals. Altro's commitment to product development means you can be sure you're getting the best flooring technology available. With its hygienic, slip resistant and durable qualities, the new flooring at Crosshouse Hospital should keep patients, staff and visitors safe for many years to come." Jim McGill of Muirfloor.
