To compliment the team's slick, match winning performances on the pitch, Arsenal wanted to achieve a modern, stylish look behind the scenes at their new fortress. Specifiers on the project turned to interior surfaces specialist Altro to help out.
Altro's safety flooring 'Stronghold' and popular wall cladding system 'Whiterock' has been installed in the stadium's main kitchen. The home changing room boasts Altro Mondo Sportflex on the floor.
Main contractor Sir Robert McAlpine Ltd was responsible for building the stadium, while HOK Sport Architecture specified Altro flooring and walling products.
In the kitchen, Altro's Stronghold in Monsoon has been laid on the floor. A light grey colour with dark flecks, the covering provides underfoot safety in wet or greasy areas where frequent spillages are likely. It is resilient, durable and easy to clean, as well as including bacteriostat for enhanced hygiene.
Altro Whiterock is a grout-free, hygienic alternative to tiles. With a choice of attractive single colour finishes, Whiterock is a semi-rigid uPVC wall cladding that provides a hardwearing surface that will stand up to the wear and tear of a busy kitchen environment.
It is resistant to impact, spills and splashes without staining and is easy to clean. Welded joints give an almost seamless, hygienic finish that doesn't allow dirt or moisture to build up in joints, so bacterial growth is prevented. The Altro flooring chosen for the home changing room is Mondo Sportflex Seal Skin. In a mid-grey colour, this covering is a tough sports floor with excellent bounce and underfoot comfort, including slip resistance.
