I've made a mental note to check my socks and toenails before presentations in future after a product demonstration today to a large group of Occupational Therapists working for a Home Improvement Agency in the Midlands.
We showed them our new Altro Aquarius safety flooring and explained the benefits compared to our Altro Marine flooring which they currently use in bathrooms and showers, (can be used with any type of shoe or bare feet with improved cleaning). There were some concerns about the 'rougher feeling' texture and jokes about a 'free pedicure' so we managed to persuade several of them to take their shoes and socks off and walk up and down a large sample we laid on the floor of the meeting room.
It's amazing sometimes however much you try to explain something people need to see for themselves? As soon as they walked on it they realised it doesn't really feel rough at all but grips your foot making you feel more secure which is especially relevant for their elderly and disabled tenants. As it doesn't have the raised 'bumps' like most wet-area flooring it's actually more comfortable to use with bare feet. They were completely convinced by this and also appreciated the more domestic feel and look of the product compared to Altro Marine.
A successful presentation then but was the first meeting I've been at where the audience were actually walking around in bare feet!
